Tor Megiddo - Oil & Blood

Along with Warboos Kurgan, Godfather Viktor and another pair of ash waste nomads the Tor Meggido: Oil & Blood campaign will be kicking off next week proper.

I have put together a gang of miscreants whose name and motives are pretty much lifted wholesale from the classic Cyberpunk book, Jeff Noon's Vurt.  Basically, they rag it around the wastes of Tor Megiddo with their Stash Wagon, trying to find as many stimms and other interesting drugs as they can find in the desert wreckage.

Maybe one day they will make it to Burning Man?

Waiting for their man.

Warm innit?

You belong to us. You shall be like us.

As mentioned in my last post I picked up a couple of figures (10!) at Salute for two brand new projects, the first of these have seen some paint and glue applied so presenting my first Tomb Cybermen for Warlord Games' Into the Time Vortex Game.

Fan colourised version

I loved painting this figure, it was nice and simple, I tried a couple of techniques I don't normally do, like highlighting.... The base is still WIP but does currently pass well for the sandy regions of Telos.

I really had to pick up the Tomb of The Cybermen box even though I had no real interest as it is probably my favourite classic Who serial.  That one or Doctor Who and The Silurians anyway...

Harbingers, Portents & HDR

Managed to purchase, assemble and paint the Harbinger of Death: Knight of Shrouds for Malign Portents this week to fit in with the rest of my Death forces.

At this point the focus is still very much Nighthaunts (and he provides an excellent General) for this, but now I am looking to expand into some more "generic" Death units.  Ghost Hounds have always had some appeal.

My latest photograph really emphasises that I need to go over the red eyes of my ghosts with purple (sorry, amethyst) to tie into the latest vogue.

Also, did you know phone cameras have an HDR setting? Because I didn't...

Wise words

Really I just wanted to link this blogpost from Tears of Envy: Just Shut Up and Do It

I agree pretty much 100% with the philosophy of doing ANY painting is better than none.  I am not a particularly gifted painter AT ALL, and my most regular gaming partners are also paragons of the craft but I have had to learn to suck it up and realise that getting figures painted, done and down on the table has a satisfaction all of it's own.

No, I will never win Crystal Brush or Golden Daemon but dammit I can field fully painted armies and warbands and that makes me proud.
